About Western Rail Archive
Western Rail Archive was created to preserve and document the history of railroads across the American West.
Railroads helped build the cities, industries, and communities that define the region today. Many historic routes, structures, and operations have disappeared or changed significantly over time. Western Rail Archive exists to help preserve that history through original photography, research, articles, video, and historical documentation.
The project focuses on both the past and present, documenting active railroad operations while preserving the stories of the railroads that came before them.
